4Stars -One World of Broadway Musicals- Review

As you know, I went to 4Stars concert last week.
The concert's contents were a famous musical songs.
As many of you know, my purpose is Ramin and Sierra who were the best casts of "The Phantom of the Opera".

I must confess, I was never interested in Lea Salonga who was the original cast of "Miss Saigon", and she was awarded the Disney Legends by singing "Aladdin" and "Mulan".

When She started to sing " All that Jazz" from "CHICAGO", however, I had goose bumps. Her voice was wonderful, and she grabbed the hearts of the audience in an instant.

It made me wonder why Yu Shirota joined 4Stars because other 3Stars were truly musical star, but he hasn't starred in any of productions at West End or Broadway.
Of couse he did better than I expected, but still I don't know why he was chosen for the show.[#IMAGE|S8#]

I think that this concert's highlight was "The Phantom of the Opera".
The song lists were "The Phantom of the Opera", "All I ask of you", "Music of the Night" and from "Til I hear you sing" from the sequels "Love Never Dies".
What a perfect selections for "The Phantom of the Opera" fan (Phan?), but Yu and Sierra sang a song I have never heard.[#IMAGE|S2#]

Yu played the Phantom in this song. I couldn't understand what happend there.
That song from "The Phantom" from Kopit version.
I wonder why the director chose this song and him?
The most of audience thought the Phantom equals Ramin, so why did Yu need to play the Phantom role? After this song, Ramin sang "Til I hear you sing", but he just sang the first few lines.[#IMAGE|S7#]
I was so dissapointed that. He was the original cast of "Love Never Dies", and this was his song, so that he should have sang to the end.[#IMAGE|S7#]

And then, Sierra started singing "The Phantom of the Opera", but they sang very fast-paced. The conductor arranged fast-paced music, and it sounded like they were in a hurry. Also, many people expected Sierra's aria, but she didn't sing that part.
I really wanted to say "Sing! My angel of music!! Sing for us!".
I found out later that this was because they tried to avoid too much strain on their throat.

Yu and Sierra sang " All I ask of you". Yu played two major roles in this scene.
I would obviously prefer Ramin to Yu![#IMAGE|S15#]
I expected Ramin would sing this song, but it was "I dreamed a dream...".
Fortunately, "The Music of the Night" was a full version.
I listened to his overwhelming, strong and sensual voice.
I felt that a large electricity passed through me.

The Act 2 started from Les Miserables.
Lea played Eponine at the 10th Anniversary concert, and Fantine at the 25th Anniversary concert.
She sang "On my own", but she sang this song in Japanese.
That was a huge disappointment for all the audience.
We have to appriciate her, as she thought of Japanese fans, but the most of fans would like to listen to her song in English.[#IMAGE|S7#]
After while, she sang in English, but the last part, she sang in Japanese again...

Ramin sang "Bring him home", and Sierra sang " I dreamed a dream".
That was amazing. I don't have any complaints.

In addition, I was impressed by Lea and Ramin's "The last night of the world" and "I'd give my life for you" from "Miss Saigon".
Those songs really touched my heart. I really appreciate Lea and Ramin's beautiful voice.

Yu didn't appear in Les Miserables and Miss Saigon parts.
It made me wonder why he sang Phantom and Raoul in the Phantom medley?
Lea didn't appear in the Phantom scene.

They were wonderful musical stars, and I was glad to see their enchanting performance.

The problem was the flow of the concert wasn't very good.
They sang a song from one musical and then they suddenly changed to a number from another show.

I felt frustrated a little bit because I would like to bask in afterglow of each of their performance, but the transition from one was to another was so sudden that I got confused.

Anyway, I'm really happy to see those shows.
I wish I could see Ramin, Sierra and Lea's 3Stars concert again.
It was truly amazing time...
